Ashley Martell is married to Thomas, a proud United States Marine. They have two beautiful children, Seth (10) and Chloe (6). She is a native East Texan and a graduate of New Diana High School.
Ashley received her bachelor's degree from SFASU in environmental science and has a teaching certification from SFA as well. She currently teaches AP Environmental Science, Environmental Systems, and Biology. This is her sixth year of teaching and her fifth year as a cheer coach for Pine Tree.
Amber Harrington is originally from south Louisiana and teaches Algebra II, Pre-AP Algebra II, and Pre-AP Geometry at PTHS. This is her ninth year at Pine Tree, her eighth year as a cheerleading coach, and she says "It's great to be a Pine Tree Pirate!"
She graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, a minor in Technical Writing, and a Masters Degree in Business Administration. In 2016, she graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Masters Degree in Natural Sciences (Masters Math & Math Education courses). She holds teaching certifications in Secondary Math and in Dance and is also AACCA safety certified in Cheerleading.
Vanessa Sommerfeld holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry from Texas A&M University and a Master's in Human Biological Chemistry and Genetics from University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. She received her teaching Certificate through the PACT program at LeTourneau University. Currently in her 6th year at PTHS, Vanessa teaches Forensic Science as well as Regular and Dual Credit Anatomy and Physiology. In 2014 -2015, she was selected Teacher of the Year for the High School Campus.
Vanessa has a daughter, Sam, who is a sophomore. She has two shelter dogs and an iguana that is also a classroom pet. She enjoys motorcycling and rides with Bikers Against Child Abuse.
